Board Member

Lyn Allison, former leader of the Australian Democrats, is on the boards of several health-related not-for-profit organisations.

Ms Allison chaired the Democrats-initiated Senate Mental Health Inquiry, which handed down its reports in early 2006 leading to a COAG agreement and an additional $4 billion spent on mental health.

She initiated a follow up inquiry, which tabled its interim report in June 2008. Her involvement with mental health began in 2005 when she co-authored a study into progress of reform in mental health following the Burdekin inquiry.
