Youth Advisory Council

Winona lives in Orange, New South Wales and is currently completing a Cert III in Community Services as a part of a traineeship with a homelessness and domestic violence support service in Orange. Previously she completed a Diploma of Music Industry and hopes to someday combine both her love of music and helping people into a career.

Being a proud Wiradjuri and LGBTQI+ identifying woman that grew up in a small rural community has enhanced Winona’s passion for mental health, especially youth mental health.

Winona is actively involved in her local headspace’s Youth Reference Group including the facilitation of fundraising events. Her efforts with headspace have resulted in her been nominated for a NAIDOC award.

Winona hopes that during her time in the council she will be able to amplify people’s voices who may not be heard as well as use her own. Alongside this she would love to bring attention to the lack of appropriate mental health services in rural Australia for young people.
