Youth Research Council Member

Jeanti lives on Sydney’s North Shore. She works part time as a receptionist at a medical centre and is also a youth ambassador for ReachOut, however most of her week is devoted to her studies at the University of Technology (UTS) Sydney. Here, she has recently completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science, majoring in pre-med, and will be beginning her Honours research exploring the relationship between negative symptoms and depression. Her goal is to get into medicine and become a doctor.

Jeanti is passionate about creating a voice for anyone who has experienced mental ill-health, especially those who have experienced psychosis. She sees great importance in a holistic approach to mental health and feels strongly about fostering team-based care. Jeanti envisions a world where people can talk freely about their mental health and be understood and respected.

In the past Jeanti has been an ambassador for the Kuring-gai Youth Development Service and has been a member of the UTS executive for batyr. She has completed her telephone crisis supporter training with Lifeline. Jeanti is extremely excited about her role on Orygen’s Youth Research Council and is keen to make a difference over her time on the council.
