Introduction to Cognitive Analytic Therapy Supervision Workshop


This two-day workshop aims to provide an introduction to relational supervision and to explore the role and expectations associated with becoming a cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) supervisor. Several theoretical models of supervision relevant to CAT will be discussed and participants will be encouraged to consider and reflect on their own patterns and strengths as a supervisor. The workshop will provide theoretical, didactic and experiential modes of learning to build knowledge, skills and confidence.

  • Learning objectives

    The learning objectives for this workshop are to:

    • understand the aims of CAT supervision;
    • consider the qualities of a good CAT supervisor;
    • develop an understanding of theoretical models of supervision;
    • practise relational supervision skills; and 
    • consider individual learning needs (with respect to being a CAT supervisor).
  • Eligibility

    This workshop is for Australian & New Zealand Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ANZACAT) accredited CAT Practitioners.
