Policy Team

Shu Mei Teo joined Orygen as a biostatistician/data scientist in July 2022. She has a Bsc (Honours) in Statistics and a PhD in epidemiology from the National University of Singapore and Karolinska Institutet. Shu Mei has over 10 years of experience in applying statistics and data science to a diverse range of research projects, involving various human cohort and survey data. Her previous experiences include using high throughput molecular and genomics technologies to understand human complex diseases. In her current role, Shu Mei is excited to apply her strong statistical and data skills to provide data-driven insights for policy development and identify opportunities to improve mental health services for young people in Australia.
