David Baker is a Principal Policy Adviser at Orygen and a founding member of the policy team.
He has more than ten years’ experience in policy development and analysis and prosecuting the case for policy change and improvement.
In his current role at Orygen, David works with the policy team translating clinical youth mental health research into evidence-informed policy opportunities for government.
David was previously Director of Research at a public policy think tank in Canberra, and has also worked as a researcher for Committees of the Parliament of Victoria.
David has written on a range of policy areas for Orygen, including the physical and sexual health of young people experiencing mental ill-health, engaging young men in mental health services and the service needs of young people transitioning out of the Australian Defence Force.
David is also a member of the forensic mental health services working group.
