Jasmine Elliott

Jasmine Elliott (she/her) has an unwavering commitment to youth mental health, shaped by her lived experience of mental illness while growing up in rural Australia. She understands firsthand the challenges young people face in accessing support and has dedicated her career to improving mental health outcomes.

Her advocacy in youth mental health began in Queensland, where she co-founded headspace Gladstone’s Youth Reference Group. She later became an Online Peer Support Moderator with eheadspace for four years and served on the headspace National Youth Reference Group from 2021 to 2023.

Currently, she is a member of the Loddon Mallee Interim Body for Mental Health and Wellbeing, shaping regional mental health service governance and was a Youth Co-Convenor for the 2025 International Association of Youth Mental Health Conference.

Jasmine has also been involved in research consultation through CREYATE (CRE Youth Advocates Team) with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, and begun her involvement with governance as a Young Board Director with the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria.

Jasmine is now a Psychiatry Registrar at Bendigo Health, aligning her clinical work with her passion for youth mental health, particularly the need for person-centred approaches and better ways to integrate lived experience workforce in public mental health care. She holds a Bachelor of Medical Science, a Doctor of Medicine, and a Diploma of Liberal Arts in Philosophy from Monash University.
