The Mission Australia Youth Survey of young people aged 15-19 from across the country has been conducted annually since 2002, capturing the evolving experiences, concerns, and challenges of young people over time. The survey covers a wide range of topics related to current issues, mental health, wellbeing, activities, and concerns. In 2023, the Youth Survey was completed by 19,501 young people, providing a comprehensive dataset that resulted in Counting the Cost of Living: The Impact of Financial Stress on Young People, a report that allows us to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of young people and identify those who may be more affected by the issues that concern them.
