Introduction to Cognitive Analytic Therapy Supervision Workshop

This two-day workshop aims to provide an introduction to relational supervision and to explore the role and expectations associated with becoming a cognitive analytic therapy(CAT) supervisor. Several theoretical models of supervision relevant to CAT will be discussed and trainees will be encouraged to consider and reflect on their own patterns and strengths as a supervisor. Capabilities and skills required for both individual and group supervision will be discussed. The workshop will provide theoretical, didactic and experiential modes of learning to build knowledge, skills and confidence.

learning objectives

The learning objectives for this workshop are to:

  • review the competencies required of a CAT practitioner;
  • consider how the CAT model can guide supervision;
  • develop an understanding of theoretical models of supervision;
  • practise relational supervision skills; and
  • consider individual learning needs (with respect to being a CAT supervisor).

eligibility

This workshop is for those who are accredited or are eligible for accreditation with the Australian and New Zealand Association of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (ANZACAT) as CAT practitioners and are considering applying to train as a CAT supervisor. The Introduction to CAT Supervision workshop is delivered at Orygen, 35 Poplar Road, Parkville. This may change to an online format in certain circumstances.

This workshop is not catered for, however, there is an on-site café for purchase of drinks, snacks or meals.

  • Wednesday 5 March, 2025 - 9.30am-4.30pm; and
  • Thursday 6 March, 2025 - 9.30am-4.30pm.
