  • mental health
  • social determinants of mental health
  • health inequity
  • digital treatments for people experiencing mental ill-health and alcohol or substance use (MHAOD)
  • novel models of care for MHAOD.

Project details

This project is part of a broader initiative to identify the social determinants of health that impact an individual’s access to digital treatment for anxiety, depression and alcohol or substance use.

Findings from this project will inform a new model of care to be implemented across NSW, integrating pathways to mental health and addictive services across the public and private system.

The PhD opportunity brings together key researchers in the area from the Centre for Youth Mental Health (CYMH), University of Melbourne and the University of Newcastle. Together, they aim to generate new knowledge regarding the impact of social determinants on access to care for people seeking support for mental ill-health and alcohol or substance use.

With cross-institutional supervision, the student will have opportunities to work across academic institutions and health settings, offering access to a wide range of resources and supports.
