Assessing and working with anger issues in young people (March 2016)

This webinar will focus on detecting and working with anger issues in young people who are engaged with mental health services. It will explore problematic anger and its impact on young people, and the importance of early intervention. The webinar will provide an assessment framework and an overview of the current available evidence for anger interventions.

Following the webinar, participants will have immediate access to an Extended Q&A where the presenter will continue the discussion responding to participant’s questions and provide an opportunity to share participant’s ideas and experiences on the topic.

Dr. Alex Parker is a Psychologist and Senior Research Fellow with Orygen, The National Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health. Alex has been involved in early intervention research and worked in youth mental health services for the past 10 years. She also leads the headspace Centre of Excellence, operated by Orygen.

Alex is leading a major Australia-wide investigation, funded by the NHMRC, into the effects of incorporating physical activity into routine clinical care for young people with depression.
