This manual is aimed at mental health professionals working with young people with early psychosis and individuals responsible for early psychosis service development.

The manual focuses on developing clinical assessment skills for working with young people who are at ultra high risk of psychosis, or who are experiencing first episode psychosis. It covers core considerations for working with young people with FEP and UHR, describes how to perform an assessment including interview techniques and risk assessment and considers assessment across the phases of psychosis and recovery.

In addition, the manual provides managers and service leads with considerations for staffing and resources to support assessment in their services.
