The Governor of Victoria, the Honourable Linda Dessau AC and her partner Mr Anthony Howard QC, hosted a morning tea at Government House earlier this month to celebrate Orygen's 25 years of progress in youth mental health.
Orygen’s executive director Professor Patrick McGorry said it was a tremendous honour to be be invited to one of Australia’s largest and most beautiful houses.
“Having our work recognised and by the Honourable Linda Dessau at Government House is true testament to the dedication and conviction of all Orygen staff, past and present,” Professor McGorry said.
“For 25 years, Orygen has been leading the way in evidence-based early intervention research and treatments for young people with mental-ill health, we feel privileged that this milestone has been acknowledged by the Governor.”
Board Members and key supporters of Orygen also attended the morning tea.
“We also wanted to take this opportunity to show our gratitude to our Board members and supporters who are always generous with their time, encouragement and support,” Professor McGorry said.
Following the morning tea Mr Howard led the guests on an informal tour of Government House.
