Leanne has an accomplished career as a leader of people, services and resources in the mental health and human services sector, and holds the position of Chief of Clinical Operations with Orygen.
The Chief of Clinical Operations has executive responsibility to operationalise clinical solutions and services across the organisation. This role will be accountable for the operational delivery and performance of clinical services, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of high quality, integrated clinical services with a focus on safety, quality and the young person’s experience of care. The role also provides strategic leadership to the overall operations of Orygen and leads business improvement initiatives in clinical services, ensuring consistency with Orygen’s strategic and annual operational plans.
Across her 20+years as a clinical psychologist and senior executive leader of operations in mental health, primary health, alcohol and other drugs, corrections and other human service sectors, Leanne has cultivated her passion for working within complex service provider environments and systems, and supporting the development of high performing teams.
Prior to her current role, Leanne has held the positions of Deputy Commissioner for the Queensland Family and Child Commission; Executive Director for the Queensland Mental Health Commission; and Executive Director of Mental Health and Specialised Services at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service. In addition to her current role with Orygen, Leanne serves as a Director for the YMCA Brisbane Board and Y-Care (South East Qld) Inc.
With a focus on the mental health, rights and wellbeing of vulnerable populations, her career has traversed clinical service delivery in child and youth mental health, in addition to operational and strategic leadership roles. She has held statewide government positions that facilitated national and state mental health reform agendas, and delivered multi-site programs of transformation and service redesign. Having completed several higher degrees, the importance of research and evidence is central to Leanne’s approach in the workplace, as is a mindset of continuous learning and improvement.
