Professor Rosemary Purcell is Deputy Chief of Knowledge Translation at Orygen and Translation Co-Lead for the Australian Eating Disorders Research and Translation Centre. She is a Professorial Fellow in the Centre for Youth Mental Health at the University of Melbourne and a registered psychologist.

Rosie is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal Early Intervention in Psychiatry.

Rosie established and formerly led the Elite Sports and Mental Health research team at Orygen. She has co-authored over 150 journal publications, more than 25 book chapters and one book in the areas of youth mental health, mental health in elite sport and early intervention in forensic mental health.

Rosie is a member of the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Expert Consensus Group on Elite Athlete Mental Health, the IOC Consensus Group on Youth Elite Athletes and the IOC Mental Health Working Group.

Rosie’s primary research interests are understanding mental health problems in elite athletes and developing optimal strategies for improving and maximising mental health and wellbeing in sporting environments.
