Maddie is 20 years old and is from Brisbane, Queensland. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Justice majoring in Criminology and Policing at QUT. She is a proud Gunggari and Kalkadoon woman.

With a diverse background in various advocacy spaces, she has experience working with Queensland Child and Clinical Network, Queensland Family and Child Commission and YMCA as a youth mentor at vocational schools. Maddie is currently on the executive for Queensland Youth Parliament where she runs her own portfolio as a mentor for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships.

Maddie is incredibly passionate about raising awareness about mental health and breaking the stigma for First Nations peoples. She wants to use her voice to amplify the voices of others and provide a seat at the table. In addition, Maddie is passionate about advocating for reform in mental health surrounding behaviours in addiction – something that has impacted her family.
