Frequently asked questions

Fellowship material will only be available in English and participants are expected to contribute verbally and in writing in English.

The Fellowship is a five-month program. Fellows will need to be able to commit approximately eight to 10 hours of time each month to Fellowship activities, including a consistent weekly online session. Activities include a combination of educational modules and individual or group-based work.

Given time zone differences in the region, weekly sessions will be planned to best suit all participants and will generally be held mid-evening (AEST time).

You will be required to work on your advocacy project throughout the fellowship outside of sessions, in particular during the project planning month (month 4).

Occasionally, we may ask you to do some preparatory or follow-up work for a session such as reading an article or watching a video. However, we understand that many Leaders are working full-time and/or have other personal and professional commitments. We will try to keep additional work to a minimum.

You’re required to make every effort to attend all the weekly education module sessions. An attendance rate of 80 per cent is necessary to complete the fellowship.

We understand that the program requires a significant and extended time commitment and that both personal and professional circumstances may occasionally prevent you from joining sessions. We’ll address these circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

You’ll need access to a computer with a camera and microphone and a reliable internet connection to fully participate in the program. If you face technical barriers, we strongly encourage you to apply and to let us know what kind of support you might need and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

We’re committed to making the program accessible to young people with disabilities. We encourage applicants with disabilities to apply and to let us know what kind of support you would need so you can fully participate in the program. We’ll always do our best to meet your needs.
