WHY IS YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCACY IMPORTANT TO YOU?

As a young leader who witnessed and underwent a decade of mental health abuses in the most marginalised and mental health stigmatised towns in Iraq, I find advocacy as my moral obligation to speak up for the health and rights of thousands of vulnerable women and young victims struggling in rural, marginalised communities. 

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE MENTAL HEALTH IN YOUR COMMUNITY?

A disadvantaged community where basic mental and digital healthcare is absent, multiple humanitarian crises took place, and where women and LGBTIQA+ young people are undergoing daily mental abuses, “honorable” killing, and human rights violations. Therefore, I am leading a national campaign on mental health education and policy reform for vulnerable societies.
