This module will take approximately 90 to 120 minutes to complete.

About

This module will introduce you to the background, rationale and models of psychological intervention for working with young people with early psychosis. Topics will include an overview of psychological assessment, developing shared models for understanding psychotic symptoms, psychological adaption following a psychotic episode, and strength-based coping strategies for reducing distress related to psychotic symptoms and co-occurring issues. There will be a focus on developing a cognitive behavioural conceptualisation for young people with early psychosis. You will also learn to appraise the differences between strength based and problem focused interventions and how to support young people with new strategies for coping with psychotic symptoms.

Clinicians and researchers who work with young people in mental health services, primary care settings and other areas of health and human services.
